Just like the show, Chameleon Circuit plays with my emotions. So basically, if you want to relive all of the most poignant moments from the late David Tennant era to the early Matt Smith era, check out their album, “Still Got Legs.”

As far as I know, the band is no longer together, which sucks, because they’re the best Doctor Who-themed band I’ve come across.

Although his remix of Marina and the Diamonds followed up by a Doctor Who tribute and Random remix may align perfectly with my own tastes, he has self-released tons of albums that have a little bit of something for everyone. Best of all, you can pack your phone or iTunes playlist with his stuff for free from the Scrub Club Records site!

Awesome Show

Great show! Great podcast! It’s a must listen….even if Will is a big baby…..

Absolutely brilliant!

In “The Executives,” you can hear how Aaron, Bryce and Will try to turn random ideas or pop culture references into a game, just in time for margarita hour.

From poking fun at otherkins to creating a universe where your life and the game converges, The Executives makes every episode hilarious with their crazy ideas.

A definite subscribe if you’re into improv comedy and video games!

The Executives gather to pitch ideas for videogames (whatever their face-less multi-national corporate parent company needs). Hosts: Bryce Castillo, Aaron Righter, and Will Strout. Records live Firdays @ twitch.tv/indielove

Bedtime Activities #2 – Year Walk (iOS) http://geeklisted.com/2013/bedtime-activities-2-year-walk-ios http://geeklisted.com/2013/bedtime-activities-2-year-walk-ios#comments Tue, 21 May 2013 05:07:03 +0000 Megan http://geeklisted.com/?p=7043 Year Walk is a surprisingly great iOS game that managed to creep me out more than my previous bedtime activity, which was the We’re Alive zombie podcast. I guess the logical next choice in this pattern would be to listen to a horror radio drama. Maybe this one?

The single screencapture on the game’s iTunes store page was almost the sole reason I bought Year Walk.

year walk screencapture

This, paired with the game’s description, quickly convinced me to pay the $4 fee to buy whatever the guys at Simogo were selling.

In the old days man tried to catch a glimpse of the future in the strangest of ways.

Experience the ancient Swedish phenomena of year walking through a different kind of first person adventure that blurs the line between two and three dimensions as well as reality and the supernatural.

Venture out into the dark woods where strange creatures roam, on a vision quest set in 19th century Sweden. Solve cryptic puzzles, touch and listen in your search to foresee the future and finally discover if your loved one will love you back.

Mysteries and clues await everywhere in Year Walk, but to fully understand the events that took place on that cold New Year’s Eve, you will have to delve deeper than the adventure and lose yourself between fact and fiction.

For the complete Year Walk experience, or if you’re curious about the folk lore on which Year Walk is based, we recommend downloading Year Walk Companion, available for free on the App Store.

The gameplay is second to the experience in Year Walk. The game plays out through a series of scenery backgrounds, most of which are set in a creepy Swedish forest. Simply swiping the screen moves you from one area to another, and you interact with the game by tapping on objects. When you’re not watching the main events unfold, you’ll have to solve puzzles to move forward on your journey.

The journey to discover your future is a dangerous one. Knowing this fact as you head out on your journey is one of the main catalysts for the game’s creepiness. Though the companion app, which is an essential game tool, helps you understand the characters’ lore, you won’t fully comprehend what you’re up against until your paths cross.

Year Walk isn’t the longest game, but it’s the right length. For less than the price of a movie ticket or a six-pack of beer, you can play Year Walk over a couple nights before bed or whenever you wanna have some creepy fun.

The game also has an appropriately haunting soundtrack, which you can hear below.

Gourmet Gaming http://geeklisted.com/2013/gourmet-gaming http://geeklisted.com/2013/gourmet-gaming#comments Tue, 21 May 2013 03:52:26 +0000 Megan http://geeklisted.com/?p=7033 Gourmet Gaming is a blog that is as well prepared as the gaming-related foods it features. Run by a blogger with a love for both food and games, the site features regular posts that show off her IRL creations of video game foods.

The posts are funny, fun, and filled with instructions on how you can create the iconic dishes for yourself. These range from main-course dishes, like curries, to party snacks, including Minecraft cakes and health potions.

I am not the greatest cook, since patience is something I usually run out of by midday, but after looking through the recipes on this blog, I have a sudden urge to go whip up some Black-Briar Mead, Grilled Leeks and Elsweyr Fondue.

Yay video games!

There may be a lot of video game sites, but I BeefJack’s wide range of coverage and offerings. It’s not written for advertising or for 12-year-olds like a lot of other sites, and it’s a good resource for finding AAA game discussion right alongside indie game previews.
